Thanksgiving is really a faith that is all grown up! It not only itemizes the things God has done, but it becomes the perspective by which we view the confusing things that are now happening. It's the expression that God is indeed using the whatever of my life for my good and His glory.

Will a Man Rob God?

Malachi 3:7-12

Everything I have belongs to God. In fact, God even makes the way for me to get the stuff! And He expects me to manage all of it (not merely one tenth) for Him! Stewardship. That's what it's called. 

 

A Changeless God for a Changing World

Malachi 3:4-6

If there's one thing that doesn't change, it's that everything changes! Do you ever feel that way? I know I do. But it's not entirely true. But God never changes. His character is immutable, and His message to mankind is ever relevant. Listen in to a 2,400 year old message and see just how true that is!

Some messages are so important that God goes to extra lengths for us to hear them! Such is the case in Malachi 3. God actually sends a messenger to prepare people to hear the next messenger! And, believe me, you don't want to miss that message! 

 

 

More and More Questions

Malachi 2:16-17

Have you ever been frustrated by repeated and inane questions? Parents, what about this one:  "Are we there yet?" They wear you out, don't they? Interestingly, the Lord said that sometimes our questions wear His Spirit the same way!

 

No Trade-Ins Allowed

Malachi 2:14-15

The people of Malachi’s day viewed marriage as disposable. Some, even among the religious leadership, were trading in their wives for a “newer model.” They were missing the very purpose for their marriage in the first place!

Don't bother showing up at church!

Malachi 2:11-13

God reserved some harsh language for the religious people who so proudly exercised their religious duty while at the same time dishonoring and abusing the relationships they had with their own wives. Basically he said, "If you can't treat her right, I don't want your sacrifices or service."

 

 

Holily Married

Malachi 2:10-11

OK, I know it sounds awkward, but I wanted it to be a contrast to what we normally hear: "happily married." God is more concerned about the holiness a marriage that He is our happiness in it. 

 

When God Takes Your Influence Away

Malachi 2:8-9

Because the Levites were frivolous with God's Word--both in their obedience to it and their preaching of it--God allowed their influence among the people to bottom out. Influence should promote godliness.

 

Oh, be careful little lips what you say!

Malachi 2:5-7

 

Maybe you recognize those lyrics from the children's bible song. But did you know that God said something just like that to His messengers over 2,400 years ago?. In fact, He expected them to know the truth and proclaim it entirely.
