What does extravagant worship look like?
Wednesday Feb 05, 2020
Wednesday Feb 05, 2020
Luke 7:36-50
There might not be a better story in all the bible about what extravagant worship looks like... Not only do we see the wonderful, heart-felt service of a recent convert, but we also learn of her compelling motivation to worship and serve as she did. Don't miss this episode!

Either way, you're just not getting it!

Luke 7:30-35
Jesus compared his generation of religious leaders to children playing games. And it didn't matter if the game was happy or sad, the religious leaders weren't going to play either way. Now what does that have to do with Jesus' ministry? Or even John the Baptist's ministry? Listen and find out!

Dealing with Doubt
Monday Feb 03, 2020
Monday Feb 03, 2020
Luke 7:18-29
Even the very best of Christians go through times of doubt and discouragement. John the Baptist--whom Jesus declared to be the greatest born of women--was no exception to this rule. How did Jesus lovingly deal with his doubt? What is the greatest resource for when doubt creeps into the lives of each and every one of us?

When everything meets nothing
Friday Jan 31, 2020

Luke 7:11-16
Every good thing is wrapped up in the person of Jesus! I love the little story of this widow woman who lost her only son. Circumstantially, there is not a more desperate situation than hers. Yet, at the moment of her greatest sorrow, Jesus showed up and met her greatest need. Death became life. Sorrow became joy. And all of it serves the greater purpose of demonstrating that final and ultimate victory is always and only found in Jesus!

When Jesus is Amazed! (It‘s not always good.) (Luke 7:1-10)
Thursday Jan 30, 2020
Thursday Jan 30, 2020
Luke 7:1-10
What a story we will consider today! A man's simple faith amazed the Lord. Now that's amazing in and of itself; but when we consider the faith of a Roman soldier and compare it to the *lack of faith* of Jesus own hometown, it adds an even greater dimension of amazement. Don't miss today's episode!

Below the surface
Wednesday Jan 29, 2020
Wednesday Jan 29, 2020
Luke 6:43-49
The most important part of a tree is its root; the most important part of a building is its foundation; and the most important part of a person is his heart. In fact, what's below the surface will ultimately determine the success of everything that's above the surface. Strength. Stability. Permanence. Go deep if you want to last long.

Don't judge me, Bro!
Tuesday Jan 28, 2020
Tuesday Jan 28, 2020
Luke 6:37-42
One of the most misquoted and misunderstood verses in the Bible is the the one we will focus on today: "Judge not..." What does it mean? What does it *not* mean? In what ways can we accurately make even uncomfortable discernments in other people's lives for their benefit? Listen in!

The real test of love!
Monday Jan 27, 2020
Monday Jan 27, 2020
Luke 6:27-36
The real test of love is not how you treat your family or friends. It's not the way you respond to the nice things that even strangers sometimes do for you. No, the real test of a God-given and Jesus-emulating love is when we pray for and do good to those that hate us and do evil to us! What!? That's what Jesus said. And without His empowering love and grace, it's an impossible command to fulfill...

Repetition is the key to learning.

Luke 6:17-26
Jesus was not afraid to repeat Himself. In fact, every time I re-read the Gospels, I become increasingly amazed at how our Lord stayed focused on certain themes, reiterating them time and again. The message in Luke 6 is great example of such repetition and thematic preaching.

The Principle of Multiplication (Luke 6:12-16)
Thursday Jan 23, 2020
Thursday Jan 23, 2020
Luke 6:12-16
After an all night prayer meeting, Jesus carefully selected twelve men in whose lives He could daily and strategically invest. Through those men the gospel would impact an entire world in just one generation. Multiplying > Adding. Every time.
