Luke 19:45-48
It seems as if the days of Covid-19 quarantine replay the same script: clean this, clean that, and then re-clean them both! Would it surprise you that Jesus cleansed the Temple twice in his public ministry? He did. At the beginning and again at the end. Find out why.

Luke 19:39-44
The bible records Jesus weeping twice. Once he wept at a friend's graveside simply because he empathized with the other mourners. In today's passage he wept for pity over a city that had missed her chance... a city that would soon reject Messiah and then pay a horrible price for that rejection.

It always amazes me how fickle sports fans can be! One moment they are painting their face and screaming their lungs out for the home team. But when that same team goes on a losing streak, the "boo's" get louder and the ticket sales grow thin. Fickle. The same fans who cheer become the ones that jeer.

Luke 19:11-27
The most accurate example of a person's loyalty and faithfulness is what he does when his authority is not watching. Jesus suggested a difficult parable to his disciples on this very subject. Their misunderstanding about thee nature and timing of Jesus ministry revealed something about their own selfishness.

Luke 19:6-10
Luke 19:10 is a verse that states the very purpose for Jesus coming to this world! He came to seek and to save that which was lost! But it is the story of Zacchaeus that serves as the backdrop for the statement. So there's something about him and his story that should resonate with each one of us.

Luke 19:1-5
Most of us know why Zacchaeus climbed the Sycamore tree... to get a better view of Jesus. The bible describes Zacchaeus as a short man with a pretty notorious job. He wasn't the person most people like and would probably be the last person you would ever think we be a Christ follower. But his view of Jesus turned out to be a little bit more that just a bird's eye, tree-climbed view!

Luke 18:35-43
Nearing the end of his public ministry and making his final ascent to Jerusalem, Jesus passed through the ancient city of Jericho. There, a blind man recognized him for who he was: the Son of David, Messiah! The crowd was fickle; the disciples were not seeing clearly; yet this blind man saw Jesus for who he was!

Luke 18:31-34
Jesus emphatically, consistently, and clearly foretold his death, burial, and resurrection. If anyone should have been anticipating the final days of Jesus, it should have been the disciples. And yet. And yet they were completely oblivious to the truths Jesus reiterated. Why?

Luke 18:28-30
Does that question sound selfish? Perhaps. But it's a question we all asks at times. Peter did, and the Lord didn't rebuke him for it. In fact, he clarified it with a sincere response.

Luke 18:18-27
A man came to Jesus one day with a question about eternal life. At first glance, it seems that Jesus is a bit unfair in his answer... that is, until you take a second look at the person's question. In a masterful response, Jesus reveals the hidden idols of the man's heart--idols the man its unwilling to confront.
