You've been subpoenaed.

Luke 24:46-49

Attorneys use the power of subpoena to elicit testimony from witnesses. "Somebody saw something that will bring value and credibility to the case of my client." In that same sense, you and I have been subpoenaed by the Lord Jesus to testify to the jury of the world that He is indeed risen! 

 

It's real!

Luke 24:36-45

Have you ever encountered a situation and thought to yourself, "This is too good to be true."? The disciples found themselves in that exact situation. They didn't know if they should be afraid or if they were seeing a ghost. Jesus provided some very practical proof that he was indeed among them. Why is the bodily resurrection of Christ important?

 

Walking faster uphill!

Luke 24:28-35

Adrenalin can cause you to do some pretty physically amazing things! When two disciples found out who Jesus was after a long hike, they turned around and hike all the way back to Jerusalem to tell the others...uphill all the way!

How would you like to have a mystery speaker come to your church and expound upon all the passages in the Old Testament that prophesied about the Messiah? Did that title get your attention? Of course it did. And I want you to know that I don't believe it for a moment. But for a fleeting moment, that's exactly what Jesus' own disciples believed! They had all the evidence right in front of them, including the very prediction of Christ Himself! And yet...

Can you imagine something so good that you have trouble believing it if it happened? That's exactly what happened to a group of women 2,000 years ago. And it happened to you too!

Forgiveness is a choice. A tough choice. But it's necessary for the maintenance of any human relationship. As always, Jesus showed us the way. Consider whom he forgave, why he forgave, and why he forgave.
